Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be responsible for providing cover on farms in relation to rest day/holiday/sickness and to assist as required at catch.The successful candidate will be responsible for eensuring that Farms have sufficient cover to be managed to the required standards and ensuring a good working knowledge of each farm, location and the business as a whole for successful completion of duties. You will support farms regarding rest days, holidays and sickness; providing cover for farm staff as required, monitoring ventilation, heating, feed, water and lighting patterns within agreed guidelines to ensure the highest quality atmosphere so that birds can thrive.
 
You will be responsible for providing support to farms regarding night catches – 1 week in 3, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all matters relating to birds, food, and suppliers, ensuring that an adequate supply is maintained and controlled to acceptable levels. This role will involve communication with other departments to ensure a smooth operation through reporting weights, correct bird numbers and information relating to birds being safe to slaughter and quality while ensuring that all hygiene procedures are carried out to Company specification, all damage is identified and reported and minimising any environmental impact.
 
The successful candidate will be a sound decision maker who is prepared to undertake NVQ qualification in poultry production and demonstrates the ability to work with minimal supervision. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role. Desirably, the successful candidate will have previous Supervisory experience and involvement in field, while demonstrating strong people management skills
